	A day before Tropical Storm Ketsana hit Metro Manila, the storm seemed hardly a threat. It seemed like a weak storm and many residents went about their weekend plans as usual. As early morning drizzles turned into a sustained and heavy do
wnpour, many was surprised at how quickly roads were overwhelmed by floodwaters. Residents of several large cities were trapped in their homes and buildings as floodwaters rose up to the second story of houses and buildings. On the following day, there were many cries for help as men, women and children were trapped on rooftops begging for food and water, if possible a rescue from the continuing rain and rapidly flowing floodwaters.
