SMMF Award

 
  Mr. Christer Themnier, Chairman of the Swedish Mercantile Marine Foundation (SMMF), visited the Swedish Crewing Management office at PTC, to hand over an award to Fitter Alan Tiangco of Wallenius, for having invented an ingenious holder for the breathing apparatus used onboard. Mr. Tiangco received a certificate from SMMF and a cash award of Swedish Kr 5000.

The SMMF was created in 1972 by the King of Sweden, to look after the welfare of seafarers and their families, and to acknowledge seafarer contributions onboard. Mr. Tiangco is the second SCM crew to have been awarded by the SMMF for creative abilities.
