I Planted a Tree at PTC

Blessed with an abundance of sunshine, the launch of PTC’s housing project for its seafarers and staff, Pacific Terraces Community, last July 5, 2008, was a celebration of life and community spirit. This being a vital housing development project in Imus, Cavite, the Governor of Cavite, Governor Erineo “Ayong” Maliksi, graced the event with his presence and together with Mrs. Isabelita Salinas, as well as, Ms. Mel Alonzo, Ms. Tess Gonzales and Mr. Juanito Eje of Pag-ibig Fund; Mr. Carlos Salinas; Mr. Dito Borromeo; and Ms. Carla Limcaoco, performed the unveiling rites. Other special guests were Imus Mayor Manny Maliksi, Vice-Mayor Mandy Ilano, and Brgy. Chairman Lorenzo Sarinas; Ms. Pia Voss of the Danish Shipowners’ Association; Mr. Andreas Nordseth of the Danish Maritime Authority; Capt. Pieter Sprangers of Wallenius Marine; Mr. Lars Andersson of the Swedish Shipowners’ Employer Association; Ms. Grith Maria Toft Franzen and Ms. Nadia Dalegaard Mikkelsen; the management and staff of the ACM; and the seafarers and staff of the PTC Group of Companies.

Amidst traditional Filipino festivities – Filipino song and dance numbers, games and a magic show - the highlight of the morning was the symbolic “foundation pouring” by the proud Pacific Terraces unit owners and the planting of trees by the PTC staff. Led by ati-atihan dancers to designated areas of the development, 122 PTC employees planted a variety of seedlings to commemorate the beginning of life in the community, and to enrich the environment with vegetation for its future residents and shade for their children.

This successful event was organized by PTC’s Magkaakbay, in conjunction with ACM, the project developers.
