MAPUA-PTC CMET Ushers In School Year 2008-2009

 

  The Mapua-PTC College of Maritime Training and Education (CMET), ushered in the 2008-2009 school year with overwhelming enthusiasm.

After only a month and a half after the College was open for admissions, the school year commenced with 113 students enrolled at the Mapua-PTC CMET Marine Engineering and Marine Transportation programs. Of the 113, 93 students qualified for scholarships granted by 8 PTC principals.

On June 13, 2008, the 28 scholars of Wallenius Marine and Transatlantic, were presented to H.E. Inger Ultvedt, former Swedish Ambassador to the  
Philippines, in the presence of the PTC and Mapua management and staff. In a solemn and moving ceremony, Mr. Salinas, who had long envisioned the creation of a school that would offer the highest quality of maritime education, expressed confidence in the future graduates of Mapua-PTC CMET.

“Our cadets will be among the best and the brightest Filipino seafarers of the future. It is my hope that their commitment to a career at sea remains strong and unwavering…..And that their education at Mapua-PTC CMET will empower them to represent our country with dignity and honor, and to conquer the seas with competence and world-class capability…”

The formal launch of the Mapua PTC-CMET at the Malayan Colleges campus will be announced soon.
