A Clean Bill of Health for PTC Health Metrics

PTC Health Metrics was certified by the DNV (Det Norske Veritas) as ISO9001:2000 compliant last July 4, 2008. Health Metrics started its formal operations as a diagnostic center in January of this year, but as early as November 2007, a quality management system was being put into place for international accreditation. After an initial audit and documentation review last June 5, 2008, the Health Metrics staff went into high gear to prepare for the final audit on July 2-4, 2008, by DNV representative Ms. Marita Bayon, and medical specialist, Dr. Renato Tanchoco, Jr. After three days of intensive evaluation, Health Metrics received a final rating of zero in non-conformities, 9 observations, and a very strong 57 noteworthy efforts.
Among the noteworthy efforts is Health Metrics’ unique bar code patient management system and automated medical records. Developed by LifeLinks, this system allows for a paperless operation, a convenient examination environment, and for electronic health records to be obtained, recorded, stored, retrieved and sent to any point in the world. Not commonly found in other centers, this feature certainly sets Health Metrics apart from the rest.
