PTC Founder and IMO Maritime Ambassador Carlos C. Salinas hosted recognition ceremonies last December 11 to formally thank the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Muntinlupa and Malabon Schools Division Offices for their valuable support and participation in My Ship, My World (MSMW) 2018.
Ambassador Salinas and PTC-CSJ Foundation President Mrs. Carla S. Limcaoco presented Certificates of Recognition to DepEd-Muntinlupa and DepEd-Malabon’s Superintendents, 10 School Heads and 44 teachers who were all part of MSMW 2018’s successful implementation.
In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Salinas lauded DepEd’s critical support that enabled almost 10,000 Grades 4 to 6 public school pupils in the two cities to learn about the maritime industry and its indispensable role in world trade.
Ambassador Salinas, Mrs. Limcaoco and PTC-CSJ Executive Director Ms. Flory A. Tabio were joined at the ceremonies by PTC COO Mr. Edgar Dominic C. Milla and VP for Crewing Operations Capt. Stan Santiago.
During the event, Exmar Shipmanagement NV Managing Director Capt. Marc Nuytemans, who was visiting from Beligium, had the chance to meet and present the certificates to the two partner-teachers assigned to coordinate with Exmar’s two participating ships.
A separate recognition ceremony was held last November for 12 Principals and their cumulative 36 ships whose Masters participated in MSMW 2018.
My Ship, My World is partof the Adopt-A-Ship Program that is implemented in other countries includingPoland, India, USA, Greece and Cyprus where the Program was initiated.
