The PTC Talent Acquisition Group (TAG) was invited to PHINMA University of Iloilo for their “Next Steps: Preparing for the Professional World” event on April 3, 2025. More than 100 graduating students attended eager to explore career paths in Marine, Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

Ms. Isabel Sotelo (Mai), PTC Iloilo Branch Manager, represented PTC at the event. She shared her maritime industry expertise, capturing the students‘ interest with insights into the diverse career paths within the PTC Group. Mai emphasized the unique advantages of maritime careers and highlighted the wide range of opportunities at sea and on land at PTC.

Mai also guided students through PTC’s recruitment process and the necessary requirements, and at the same time offered practical advice on overcoming challenges that they may face as they enter the workplace, saying, “Finding a ship to board is like finding a needle in a haystack. Some will get there faster than others but never lose your grit. You will encounter different obstacles and hindrances, but you will get there, and some will get there faster than others. So, whatever happens, never lose that grit or determination.”

PTC TAG’s involvement in this event underscores its commitment to building strong partnerships with educational institutions and promoting the maritime industry. By actively engaging with students and providing guidance on navigating their careers, PTC continues to empower the next generation of Global Filipino Professionals ensuring that they are well-prepared to embark on fulfilling careers at sea and beyond.
