RPSC-MOD Board Game session engages San Mateo youth for NDRM 2025

JULY 25, 2025

As part of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2025 celebration, the PTC RISE Program team successfully conducted a RISE Program for Seafarer Communities – Master of Disaster (RPSC-MOD) Board Game session on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at JFD Stadium in San Mateo, Rizal. This initiative was organized in partnership with the Resilience and Sustainability for Empowerment (RSE) Foundation and aimed to promote disaster risk reduction education among the youth in a fun, interactive way.

More than 150 young participants and students from San Mateo enthusiastically took part in the program. Through the MOD board game, they learned essential lessons on disaster preparedness and response, helping them understand the importance of being ready for hazards and emergencies. The activity was both engaging and educational, reinforcing vital knowledge through play-based learning.

The RISE Program team extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Municipality of San Mateo, led by Acting Mayor Hon. Mary Grace Diaz, as well as to the San Mateo Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO). Special thanks go to MDRRMO Head Mr. Braulio Villanueva, LDRRMO II Rave Bryan Salvosa, and the entire San Mateo MDRRMO staff and personnel for their invaluable support and guidance in making this initiative possible.

This collaborative effort highlights the shared commitment of the PTC Group, RSE Foundation, and the Municipal Government of San Mateo to advance Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) education through innovative and youth-friendly approaches. Together, we move forward in building resilient communities and resilient lives.
