JUNE 24, 2025

The PTC Group successfully conducted the LAYAG 2025: Financial Literacy and Health Awareness Program at the AMOSUP Function Hall in Intramuros, Manila, with over 400 RCCL Crew Management Inc. (RCMI) crewmembers and their beneficiaries in attendance. This event demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting the well-being and financial empowerment of Filipino seafarers and their families.

The initiative was spearheaded by PTCI Accounting Payroll representatives Ms. Annabelle Roxas and Ms. Michelle Nuque, in close collaboration with the RCMI Crew Family Welfare (CFW). Participating PTC Group of companies included First Maritime Credit Corp. (FMCC), PTC Insures, Health Metrics, Inc. (HMI), and Pharm Metrics Drug, Inc. (PMDI), alongside key institutional partners such as Sun Life Grepa, Gardenia, Megatelecon, BDO, Employees Compensation Commission, PAG-IBIG Fund, and AMOSUP.

The morning session focused on Health Awareness and Nutrition Counseling, with expert guidance provided by HMI and Gardenia. This was followed by informative discussions on government benefits, banking services, ESIM, the Magna Carta for Seafarers, and crew benefit updates for AMOSUP. Notably, Atty. Alexander Ragonjan, legal representative of AMOSUP, addressed the audience on key legal matters affecting seafarers.

In the afternoon session, attention shifted to Financial Literacy. PTCH Financial Director Michael Eugene Lotho delivered an insightful talk aimed at helping attendees manage their finances more effectively. This was followed by presentations from Sun Life Grepa on life insurance, and the PAG-IBIG Fund on housing and savings programs.

The program’s holistic approach—integrating physical health, legal rights, and financial preparedness—was widely appreciated by attendees. Many expressed how the event deepened their understanding and appreciation of the benefits available to them and the importance of financial and health wellness in their careers at sea.

Attendees expressed strong interest in participating in future events of a similar nature. Thanks to the unwavering commitment of the PTC Group of Companies and its partners, the LAYAG 2025 event made a meaningful and lasting impact, leaving RCMI GMPs feeling informed, empowered, and genuinely valued.
