PTC and Jebsen PTC Maritime proudly participated in an event hosted by the Association of Licensed Manning Agencies (ALMA) Maritime Group on June 17, 2025, at the AMOSUP Convention Center. The gathering marked the official launch of Women of ALMA, a dedicated support network aimed at empowering and uplifting women in the maritime sector. This milestone underscores the PTC Group’s continued commitment to advancing diversity, inclusion, and gender equality across the maritime industry.

Representing Jebsen PTC at the event were two female cadets MCC: Deck Cadet Isabelle Tabuzo and Engine Cadet Alexis Abella. Their presence symbolized the next generation of empowered women who are ready to lead and thrive in a traditionally male-dominated field.

A key highlight of the event was the MOA signing ceremony for the joint research initiative entitled “The Overseas Seafarers’ Industry Profile, Structure, and Impact on the Philippine Economy.” This collaboration among the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), AMOSUP, and the University of Asia and the Pacific – Center for Research and Communication Foundation, Inc. is expected to deliver valuable insights into the socioeconomic impact of Filipino seafarers. The study will play a crucial role in helping the industry, policymakers, and partners better support the needs and welfare of our modern-day heroes at sea.
The event also featured a Mental Health Panel Workshop, which tackled the growing concerns around seafarers’ mental well-being. Focused on identifying mental health risks during Pre-Employment Medical Exams (PEME), the session explored early intervention strategies to prevent self-harm and promote holistic health at sea. Panelists included experts from OneCare Group, Nordic Maritime Clinic, Windsor International Maritime Clinic, and Synergy Group Philippines.
PTC and Jebsen PTC Maritime are honored to be part of this meaningful movement. By supporting initiatives like Women of ALMA and contributing to research that advances seafarer welfare, we reaffirm our commitment to shaping a more inclusive and resilient maritime industry.
