PTC Ship Management hosts 2025 Crew Conference to promote safety, teamwork, and excellence

PTC Ship Management Inc. (PTCSMI) held its 2025 Crew Conference on May 30 at the Legaspi Room, First Maritime Place in Makati City, gathering PTCSMI officers and crew, along with industry experts, under the theme “Safety Seas, Smart Crews: Enhancing Knowledge, Building Teams and Driving Operational Excellence.” The conference served as a platform to strengthen maritime safety practices, foster leadership, and enhance crew performance through a series of engaging sessions and presentations.

Capt. CS Lee, Head of PTC Ship Management, opened the event with welcoming remarks, setting the tone for a day of insightful discussions. The lineup of speakers addressed a wide range of operational and compliance topics critical to today’s maritime professionals. Among the highlights were presentations from Capt. Godfrey Alonday Jr. on Port State Control (PSC) inspections, Capt. Rolando Caoile on the importance of preventing drug and alcohol use onboard, and CE Meldwin Moral on addressing gaps in crew training.

CE Alfred Haboc, Head of the PTC Education and Training Group, delivered a powerful session on leadership and taking responsibility, while Engr. Rafael Eysseric of the Panama Maritime Authority provided updates on new PSC developments for Panama-flagged vessels. Ms. Narumi Watanabe of GARD P&I emphasized loss prevention and claims management, and Mr. Joey Abengona gave a crewing update highlighting current developments and opportunities for PTCSMI seafarers.

The conference concluded with an awarding and recognition segment celebrating outstanding crew performance, followed by inspiring closing remarks from Mr. Fujio Miura, affirming PTC Ship Management’s commitment to continuous improvement and seafarer empowerment.
