The Sea Mariners program is proud to announce the significant success of its students in the recent Philippine Merchant Marine Academy Entrance Examination (PMMAEE). Twelve aspiring seafarers who underwent the program's Maritime Entrance Examination Review Sessions (MEERS) have successfully passed the rigorous PMMAEE, paving the way for their entry into the prestigious academy on full scholarship.
The Maritime Entrance Examination Review Sessions (MEERS), a vital component of the Sea Mariners program, were held over five weekends from October to November 2024. This intensive program provided targeted preparation for Grade 12 students aiming to join the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA). For its 2024 run, MEERS was generously sponsored by PTC Shipmanagement Inc. and was led by Capt. Ronald Enrile and Capt. Florencio Jampil. This initiative underscores the effectiveness of the Sea Mariners program in identifying, training, and mentoring future leaders for the maritime industry.
Capt. Ronaldo SJ Enrile, Consultant for Shipping Cluster and National Training Director of the Sea Mariners program, expressed his delight at the students' success. "This is a momentous occasion for the Sea Mariners program and, more importantly, for these deserving young individuals," said Capt. Ronaldo SJ Enrile. “Their success in the PMMAEE is a testament to their hard work and the quality of preparation offered through MEERS. We are confident they will excel in their maritime studies."
Hex Brizuela, Program Manager and National Training Supervisor of the Sea Mariners Program, highlighted the program's impact. "The Sea Mariners program is committed to empowering talented youth and providing pathways to rewarding careers in the maritime sector," Brizuela stated. "The success of these 12 students in securing admission to PMMA on full scholarship is a powerful demonstration of our program's effectiveness, made possible through the collaborative efforts of our team and the support of our sponsors."
Chloe Balmaceda, Program Associate of the Sea Mariners, shared her excitement for the successful candidates. "We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them," Balmaceda noted. "Their dedication throughout the MEERS program has paid off, and we are excited to see them embark on their journey at PMMA."
