On March 28, 2025, executives of the PTC Group paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Secretary of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Vince Dizon.

PTC Group CEO and Chair of the MARINA Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC), Gerardo Borromeo, introduced the Council’s work and emphasized the strategic role of the maritime industry in advancing national economic development, particularly in the areas of seafaring, shipping, and shipbuilding and ship repair. He was joined by Mr. Jake Lagonera, head of MSGC’s Legal and Regulatory Working Group, and MGEN Restituto Padilla Jr., PTC Executive Director for Corporate Public Policy, Risks, and Safety.

During the meeting, Mr. Borromeo highlighted the Philippines’ rich maritime heritage and its enduring contribution to global trade and seafaring excellence. He also shared the Council’s ongoing efforts to strengthen maritime governance in partnership with MARINA and Council members, which include leaders from the finance, energy, education, and mining sectors, among others.

Secretary Dizon acknowledged MARINA’s critical role in shaping the future of Philippine maritime transport and expressed his appreciation for MSGC’s continued support and commitment to advancing the maritime industry.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of strong collaboration between government and industry in unlocking the full potential of the Philippines as a leading maritime nation.
