PTC RISE and RSE Foundation empower Bataan Youth with Disaster Preparedness Training

OCTOBER 3, 2025

The PTC RISE Program team, in partnership with the RSE Foundation, Inc., successfully conducted a Master of Disaster (MOD) Board Game Session on September 20, 2025, at the Pavilion, Bataan Tourism Center. The session aimed to engage the youth of Bataan in learning disaster preparedness and response through fun and interactive gameplay.

In collaboration with the Bataan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the event gathered more than 80 participants from the towns of Abucay, Pilar, Orion, and Balanga City. Through the MOD board game, the youth gained valuable knowledge on disaster awareness while enjoying a dynamic and engaging activity.

Led by Lead Program Officer Josh McCarver, the session underscored the importance of disaster preparedness in protecting communities against hazards and risks that may lead to disasters. The activity highlighted how education and play can work hand in hand in equipping the next generation with essential life skills.

The PTC RISE team expressed gratitude to the Provincial Government of Bataan, under the leadership of Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III and Board Member Romano Del Rosario, as well as to the Bataan PDRRMO, led by Officer-in-Charge Rowema Marie Santos with Admin and Training Division Chief Cherry Anne Bautista, for their strong support in making the event a success.
