Growing hospitality talent together: PTC’s collaborative path with Astoria-ACHI

SEPTEMBER 14, 2025

PTC continues to invest deeply in building a future-ready workforce, and the recent visit to Astoria Culinary and Hospitality Institute (Astoria-ACHI) reflects that commitment.

On September 2, PTCI representatives John Paul Soto Jr., Deputy Head of Cruise and Program Manager for the Shipping Cluster, together with Joey Yambao, Operations Manager for the Cruise Division, and Benjie M. Bautista, Talent Acquisition Manager, met with Astoria ACHI leaders, including Ping Regalado, General Manager and Corporate Director, and other key representatives. The discussion centered on forging possible partnerships that will strengthen recruitment pipelines and open wider career opportunities for graduates.

Speaking on this initiative, JP emphasized the potential impact of the collaboration, “We look forward to building this partnership with Astoria-ACHI, as it gives their graduates a clear path to meaningful careers at sea—not only in the cruise division but also in cargo, where opportunities provide vital experience and career progression. This is about opening doors for young talents and supporting them as they grow with the industry.”

This engagement highlights how PTC continuously expands its talent acquisition ecosystem through collaboration with academic institutions. Through this initiative, PTC reinforces its mission to nurture skilled hospitality and maritime professionals, equipping the next generation to thrive in both cruise and cargo sectors.
